How to say “I love you” in English

Those three words say a lot! Nice to say, and even nicer to hear, I love you is the simplest way to express your love to your partner, family and friends.

I’m in love with you is more intense than a simple “I love you”. Physical attraction, desire, complicity, butterflies in the stomach… your heart beats wildly every time you think of this person. There’s no doubt about it: you’re in love.

You are the love of my life 

More dramatic than I love you, you are the love of my life is a serious declaration that expresses your desire to spend your whole life with that person. 

I’m crazy about you 

I’m crazy about you is another way of saying “I love you”. If you’re crazy about your boyfriend or girlfriend (in the positive sense of the word, of course!), don’t be afraid to say it – they may be waiting for the right moment to tell you in return.

A cute way to describe your partner. You love them so much that they make you complete. My other half or my better half are widely used by English speakers to refer to their partner.

I will love you forever 

I will love you forever is a powerful declaration. In other words, your love is eternal, for better or for worse.

Here’s a more poetic way of saying “I love you”. You are my sunshine is a nice way of telling the person in your heart that they brighten your life every day, and that you feel special when they’re by your side.

I love you from the bottom of my heart helps epress a deep, sincere love. 

I’m madly in love with you 

If you love your other half passionately, I’m madly in love with you means that you are overflowing with love for that person and that you think about them constantly.

When you tell someone you’re the man/woman of my dreams, it means they’re perfect in your eyes. They are the ideal partner you’ve always dreamed of, who fulfills or even exceeds your expectations in every way. 

I’ve fallen for you / I’ve fallen in love with you 

I’ve fallen for you means that you are beginning to develop real feelings of love for someone. You are (literally!) falling in love.
