A breach<\/strong>: An opening, tear or rupture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To breach<\/strong> (a fortress, an agreement): to penetrate; to break the rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A breach of (protocol)<\/strong>: a violation of (protocol).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Breaches in the news<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In a minor breach of protocol, a group of Trump supporters breached<\/strong> the US Capitol earlier this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New grandpa<\/s> president, Joe Biden, will now try to seal the breach (after his afternoon nap). <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don’t confuse “breach” with:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Beach<\/strong>: a sandy area near water. Good place to see a whale\u00a0breach<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bleach<\/strong>: a chemical disinfectant. Recommended by 1 of 46 US presidents as a COVID cure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To broach<\/strong> (a subject): to bring something up. Is this a good time to tell you that there are costumed extremists in the lobby?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Things that can be breached<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Castle<\/strong>: If video games have taught us anything, there’s probably a princess or an extra life in there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Data<\/strong>: No need to hack private information when we give it away for free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
