Definitions
A storm: very bad weather – wind, rain, thunderbolts and lightning (very very frightening).
To storm (a castle): to attack and capture (a castle).
Ex: I stormed the Bastille and all I got was this lousy hat!

This month, Hongkongers stormed the parliament in protest of extradition laws to mainland China.
Facing tear gas, Hongkongers weathered the storm with umbrellas, naturally.
Stormy idioms
A storm in a teacup: Big fuss for nothing. Ex: “This whole global warming thing is a storm in a teacup” -Gas n’Guns Magazine.
Sh*tstorm. Wind + excrement. Fortunately just a metaphor for a violent controversy. Check the news for your local sh*tstorm.
Kicking up a storm
Hurricanes: Throws cars, rips roofs of houses, breathes fire. Sorry, that’s Godzilla.
Stormtroopers: Intergalactic white fascists. Back in fashion.
Superpowers: They can storm any place they want, even when everyone is looking. Keep an umbrella handy.
